Mike Stollenwerk ~ It could be questioned whether a teacher is a better teacher given the number of children they have taught.  After all, wouldn’t a teacher with more students have more experience, more opportunities to grow and learn themselves?  What of the teacher that has the experience of teaching grade school, high school and college students?  Mr. Mike Stollenwerk, one of Divine Redeemer Lutheran School’s current seventh grade teachers and departmentalized science teacher, has just that experience. Mr. Stollenwerk has taught students in different grade levels in three different states- Texas, Missouri and Wisconsin.  The 2010/2011 school year was his first year teaching at Divine Redeemer.  Mr. Stollenwerk and his wife, Jenny, both love being part of our church and school family.  They involve their own children, Ethan and Owen, in many of the church and school functions in which they are involved.  They are both heavily involved in the school and many of its family activities.  Mike has assisted in bringing wrestling camps to our DR students and a summer time science camp known as STEAM- for science, technology, engineering, art and math.  He has also taught adult Bible Study at Divine Redeemer teaching the book of Galations and the teaching of Vocation.   In addition to Mike’s receiving his teaching certificate from Concordia University- Wisconsin in Secondary Education, Biology and Theology, he also went on to receive his Masters degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, in Systematic & Exegetical Theology!  Divine Redeemer is truly blessed to have the hard work and talents of Mr. Stollenwerk!
